Welcome to my homepage.
My name is Addie. Actually my name is Adeline, but I have been called Addie for as long as I can remember.
I live in Northeastern Ohio near Cleveland and have been here for many years. I am originally from Chicago, a city I love and consider the most exciting city in the country.
My professional career was with American Airlines where I spent 31 happy years. Working with the public is the most frustrating and rewarding thing one can do. My job afforded me the opportunity to travel the world, experience many cultures and peoples and meet some very interesting people along the way. I have met many many celebrities, most very pleasant, some not so. My favorite was Marlon Brando who traveled to Chicago's Ohare Airport frequently to visit his family who lived nearby. He was always a lot of fun and enjoyed talking to the employees, one time even speaking to an agent's wife on the phone. You could hear her screams throughout the entire terminal. Imagine what she had to tell her friends over coffee the next day! The most beautiful were Marilyn Monroe and Rock Hudson. Marilyn was a beautiful woman you couldn't stop looking at, and Rock was simply the most gorgeous man I have ever seen. What a shame the way they both ended up.
In 1993, 6 months after I retired, my dear husband passed away after some serious heart problems. It was devastating to me as we had a wonderful life together. At the time we lived in a big old Victorian house filled with antiques we had collected and restored through 30 years of marriage. I knew immediately I could not keep up a nearly 100 year old house so I sold the house, auctioned the antiques and moved into a new Condo. It was a good move for me. My life would never be as it was, and I filled my time and life decorating and furnishing my new home. I love it here. I have a very nice garden that I enjoy. I have great neighbors, and I've made many new friends.
My time now is spent traveling, collecting California Pottery, and doing Country and Western line dancing. I recently started classes in clogging, which is very similar to tap dancing. It's a lot of fun and good excercise. My golf game could be better but I'm working on that.
I would like to get into these things in more detail on subsequent pages.
About the cutesocks name.
Now that I've retired I wear a lot of casual clothes. For some unknown reason I ended up wearing different and "CUTE" socks. I have socks for every holiday, in every pattern, every crazy color, and every animal print you can think of. I thought it only appropriate I use the cutesocks name. That's it. Nothing too unusual.
My sincere gratitude and thanks go to cindi who is really responsible for any and everything I have accomplished here. Her expert knowledge of html and design helped pull everything together. She got me going on more than one occasion when I was ready to give up. She is a delightful lady I am proud to call my friend.
